In April 2014, I graduated from Yoga Vidya, a Registered Yoga School. I received my 200hr teaching certification.
My training involved an in depth exploration of asana, anatomy, yogic texts, class sequencing, meditation, pranayama, kriya, and mantra. This experience allowed me to deepen my personal practice, and develop my own unique voice and teaching style.
One of the teachings that greatly resonated me was Shanti Shakti -- A sanskrit term for "Peaceful Power." Through my YTT, home practice, journal writing, and various other forms of self-discovery, I was able to regain and strengthen my own peaceful power. It quickly became my goal and passion to help others do the same.
In 2017, I decided to pursue my Yoga Therapy certification. In January 2018, I graduated as a certified yoga therapist through an International Association of Yoga Therapists-accredited school. My training was overall intense, rewarding, and incredible. I am grateful to my mentor Jess who taught me so much about yoga as physical, mental, and emotional therapy. I have had some amazing experiences working with children with various physical/motor skill special needs, kids and adults dealing with and learning to cope with trauma and mental health issues, victims of domestic violence and abuse, yoga as rehabilitation, self-help/reflection and healing for people in prison, and so much more.
I am currently living in San Diego and frequently subbing yoga classes, teaching small community classes, and private lessons. I am also leading a weekly yoga therapy class through a rehabilitation facility for people dealing with various addictions and substance abuse, along with a few private lessons from this group.
Regardless of your age, shape, size, abilities, or experience, I am willing and eager to help guide you on your own unique yogic journey! Please don't hesitate to contact me with any questions or concerns.
